If this comes across as a 5 star review it’s because it won’t let me choose 2 stars… or any other one.
This show has very little in the way of new guns being sold, the show I went to in July had one vendor with a bunch of new guns.
The last two shows I’ve been to there was nothing in the way of new guns…
Hell, there were hardly any vendors with used guns other than the few scattered here and there at different vendors.
Most of the stuff looks like a flea market or is military related, your typical magazine vendors and holsters.
If you want to waste an afternoon and walk around, it’s ok, if you’re coming here to buy a new or used handgun, don’t waste your time
Waste of time and money ……
Should be called Pittsburgh knife and cheap accessories show. I’d be surprised if there were 20 full fledged FFL’s in the place. Hardly any handguns and a sh!tshow of cheap AR anodized parts. Looked like a pride parade of ar uppers.
If You want to buy beef jerky tee shirts or purses this show is for you. Very little guns
This is the worst gun show I’ve ever been to. They wouldn’t let any one inside forcing people to stand in long crowded lines In 20 degree weather. I stood In line for over an hour before leaving
I’ll stick to the shows in South Hills, even though it is a bit of a drive. The last 3 shows at the Expo Mart I attended were a waste, with everything from jewelry to gutter guards sold. I PAID $11 TO LOOK AT AND BUY GUNS AND AMMO, NOT FREAKING FUDGE AND CANDY!
I must live in another dimension, I always enjoy have probably bought 100 guns at this show . Really! I very seldom buy new , the quality and amount of good used is always good. You pay what you want or walk away. I think i have attended every show in last ten years. And I drive up to 400 miles to attend others so I have many to compare with.
This is probably the best gun show around in this area, however it’s nowhere near as good as the shows that were held in the past at the Expo center. There is a large selection of firearms and ammunition but they are mostly overpriced. There are too many junk vendors. I don’t mind the drive to Monroeville and the entrance fee is reasonable. Parking close to the show is difficult but there is parking in the mall I like some hard to find items and this show just doesn’t attract those vendors in good numbers so for my interests the selection is small. It’s probably easier for them to sell on the internet nowadays. I fear all the good shows are a thing of the past. Still, it’s not a bad way to spend a weekend afternoon and I usually meet some old friends there..
This is the worst show in the area. ShowMasters doesn’t care what’s in the show as long as they get they’re table money, 50% of the show is cheap junk and food and the 50% that is gun related isn’t anything you can’t find anywhere else for the same or less money.
Its not a bad venue. Driving though Monroeville can be a pain sometimes and parking gets sketchy but it has potential, that is, if it were run by anyone that gave a damn.
Show’s not worth the price of admission, especially if you pay turnpike tolls to get there. Anyone that gives this show 5 stars is either paid by Showmasters or has never been to another show in their life.
Stick to either the Washington County Show or the PA Gun Collectors shows.
Show is average. Relativity expensive, crowded, garbage vendors allowed in.
very good
If you’re local to Monroeville it’s a great show. Prices for ammo are high but when you couldn’t getammo at retail stores they had it available. I’ve got better deals on rifles there than at retailer stores. You have to know prices and you can make deals. Go Sunday afternoon not as crowed and deals can be found.
Thanks Vic! I doubt that we’re going to attend again for this gun show coming up February 4th 2017 at Monroeville. Me and my husband are tired of these gun shows and swap meets that advertise gun-related merchandise, but then you get there it’s more other stuff than what caught your attention to want to go the event. We also completely agree with you concerning these events being ridiculously overcrowded and the people are most certainly careless anymore….my husband is in a wheel chair and it already makes things difficult enough for him to get around but makes it even more a frustrating issue when he can’t get through because they’re allowed to get so packed in and like you said how people look at you even when politely asking them to move so you can get through.
So why put 20.00 in gas for the truck, 8.00-10.00 per person to get in, and then a little money to stop n take a break getting something to eat n drink when the venders aren’t hardly even bringing the types of things that use to be very common for shooters and reloaders like us. Just one of the ones we went to in Canton Ohio was so pathetic that they even had over 5 vendors there who were just selling cell phones ,accessories, and such and that’s just a fraction of the vendors who were there selling things that had nothing to do with guns!
I will attend this show when ever they are here. A bit crowded, but be patient and wait your turn to speak to the sellers. What’s the big deal. I’ve never found anyone of them rude or not helpful. I recently was in the market to purchase a certain ww2 gun. I was able to get so much information from many of the vendors. They are walking encylopedias, this is what they do. If there were no showes if our area people would complain about that, appreciate what they do and stand for. These people are the backbone of why we still have the right to own and bear arms! Thanks, George…….
terrible show, really crowded and no real deals, biggest complaint is the parking, they have two or three events going on at the same time and no parking, you have to park about 1500 yrds away in the mall parking and walkto the show,,,,,,,,
I like the location and the great selection.
This show is awesome guys. Don’t be discouraged by bad comments. You will ALWAYS find something you like at this show
There’s a great selection of guns. I don’t know what you are talking about. You must just be to broke to be a collector. If you want quality guns you have to pay quality price
These guys are idiots who obviously had a buyer’s remorse. This is A GREAT gun show. ANYONE who goes to gun shows, doesn’t day they go but actually goes to lots gunfire KNOW to EXPECT NON gun vendors. To be honest I’m a vendor at this show and I love when there’s a ton of stuff look at. Gun shows are great! And let me tell you there’s always PLENTY of guns and gun accessories. The other vendors also sell patriotic items and other stuff most gun collectors like to look at. Over all of you like fun shows don’t let these morons steer you away
This show had available smokeless powder, primers, bullets, and reloading dies. I would recommend this show to anyone looking for anything for reloading. I never saw so many different powders in 1 lb bottles anywhere. Hunting bullets and handgun bullets widely available also. Great show.
I know of one, and only one, vendor that makes it worth going. Unique Cases from WV will be there in Oct. They make really nice soft cases for a very reasonable price. Shipping, even just to PA is a bit of a ripoff on the website so when I know they will be at a show locally and I’m in need of a case (as I am right now) I’ll go for them. Check em out.
Sure, some of the vendors fail sales 101 and customer relations but the majority of vendors are willing to negotiate, and if they aren’t willing, just smile at them, think of them as less than they think of you, and pass on to the next vendor. I may have riled some of the vendors with low offers but I have made some very lucrative purchases by doing so. I have found the individual (floor walkers) single item sellers very interesting and have made very good deals with them. Yes, I think the entrance fee is a couple dollars higher than it should be and it has turned me off in the past and in the future also depending on the mood I am in. But actually, I have found the show very enjoyable and lucrative and I probably will continue to travel the 280 mile round trip to attend the show unless they raise the entrance fee or if there is a competing gun show the same day.. Know yourself – the only person you need to please is yourself.
I agree with Vic and David B. This show is a joke. This is an overpriced flea market.
The selection in guns and ammo is outstanding. Also they offer $1.00 coupon foe admission
This is the first and last time I will ever attend a “Gun Show” done by C&E or Showmasters. There is very little quality there and the quality that was there was way over priced. I could get it cheaper at a retail store. If I wanted I could even shop online and save more. I understand trying to go out and support some people and their businesses but this was far too ridiculous. It was more like a flea market more than a gun show. Actually I think I might have gotten better deals at some flea markets before. So many peopled asking for handout donations and the majority of them looked as if they were homeless. There was many antique type things there. If you are looking for that type of thing then this is for you. Over priced ammo, over priced guns, over priced everything. You can get better quality stuff than this place had. There were about 10-12 knife stands and out of all of them there was only 1 who actually sold anything of quality (ie: Benchmade, SpyderCo, CRKT, Emmerson, and Kershaw.) Yes he was selling it there, but I doubt he actually sold anything being that he was anywhere from $30-$60 over what you can actually get them for online. The rest of the vendors just sold made in china stuff. The place was big and being that it was a Saturday I was expecting it to be packed like Vic has mentioned before. To my surprise there was a lot of walking room and it wasn’t too bad to get around. There were 2 booths that I would like to mention. One that did custom Kydex holsters that were reasonably priced and another who sold less expensive leather holsters and belts. So out of about 100 vendors there might have been 3-4 worth actually going there too look at. I am happy I got the experience over and done with so I never have to wonder about the quality at these places. I’ll just stick to my local gun bashes from now on and purchase from online reputable stores. If I could give zero stars this would be it.
This is THE worst Gun Show that I have EVER gone to. I USED to attend EVERY SINGLE Gun Show here at the Expo Mart. Now, there are Way too many vendors selling things OTHER than guns….Like gutter guards, fudge, jewelry. It is like a BIG FLEA MARKET, Also… SOME of the people who attend this Show are the MOST IGNORANT people that I have ever seen, THIS Show is Soooo crowded that you CANNOT get close to ANY of the vendor tables to LOOK at, let alone purchase anything. As crowded as it gets, there are people who want to stand right in the middle of the aisles and talk and talk, who WILL NOT MOVE, They actually look at you as if you are crazy if you say Excuse me to get through. Just a shame for the PAYING vendors who pay so that they can SELL their products, and for us, the BUYERS, who pay admission to be able to buy their products, and The vendors cannot sell, or the buyers can’t buy under these conditions. I am SURE that the Building MAX amount of people permitted inside is NOT being adhered to. And I am POSITIVE that if the local Fire Marshall were to pay a visit during one of these shows, that SURELY they would shut them down.
More like a Knife show.. Very few new guns, mostly old garbage.
This show is more like a Flea Market that has some overpriced, over picked guns for sale. I’m
