Frequently Asked Questions

General

Why do you require my name and e-mail to contact you?

Gun Show Trader validates the corrections and updates submitted for a gun show. Most-of-all, we just want to help you the best we can. The best way to do that is to get to know our users.

What if a show is not “Verified?”

First and foremost this does not necessarily mean that a gun show has been canceled. It simply means that Gun Show Trader staff was not able to confirm the information with the promoter. Every week our staff attempts to verify all listing. This occurs by either emailing the show promoters directly or checking their websites for the most updated information.

Why should I have to “Confirm All Gun Shows”?

Gun Show Trader is updated daily. We strive to be the most accurate and up-to-date gun show listing. However, there are times when a gun show has been canceled, rescheduled, or moved to another location without notification being sent to Gun Show Trader staff.

What does “Unscheduled Gun Show” mean?

It simply means that the gun show was once listed on Gun Show Trader. Either the show has not yet been rescheduled or the show has been indefinitely canceled. These still appear on the site to help promoters easily update their shows. They are also useful to vendors and attendees to find previous shows they have attended.

Do you keep a “Past” Gun Show Archive?

The simple answer is: “No.” Gun Show Trader is a large website spanning 10’s thousands of pages. That can easily put a huge strain on the server. To help combat this, each time a gun show is “updated” it automatically deletes old dates for shows. So it is possible to see “past dates” for shows. However, we do not keep an archived list of them.

What do all these Acronyms mean?

We have compiled a list of frequently used acronyms and abbreviations that are used on the Gun Show Trader. If you still have questions feel free to ask!

Attendees

Why isn’t the admission price listed for the gun show?

Gun Show Trader wants to list as much information as possible. The more information we have, the better informed gun show enthusiasts are. Unfortunately not all gun show promoters wish to advertise their admission price.

Do you offer military discounts?

Gun Show Trader has partnered with Vet-Tix to offer promotional tickets for Eligible veterans, active-duty military personnel, first responders and their families. Check for the Dog-Tag Icon on every listing.

Do I need a permit to purchase a firearm or ammo?

Every state is different. We suggest the Gun Laws by State Book or a quick reference of NRA-ILA’s State Gun Laws.

Vendors

How do I become a vendor at your show?

Gun Show Trader doesn’t actually host any gun shows. We simply list the information for gun show attendees and vendors to find. All promoter contact information is provided on each listing.

Promoters

How do I add my gun show to Gun Show Trader?

Easy, fill out the Gun Show Submission Form! Once submitted it’ll be e-mailed to Gun Show Trader staff and added to our listings, usually within 48 hours.

How do I make a correction to an existing gun show?

All you have to do is fill out the Edit Gun Show Form.

Every listing has an “Edit Show” button in the top right corner. All the current information is pre-filled out for you, just change the information that needs to be corrected.

How do I “Verify!” my gun show?

There are several ways to get your shows verified:

  • Gun Show Trader sends out monthly emails to all promoters asking them to “verify” their shows. Check your SPAM/JUNK folder.
  • Email us ahead of time to verify the information is correct.
  • Promoters can Request a Login to manage their own listings.

How can I make my gun show stand out?

Gun Show Trader offers a variety of advertising options including Email Blasts, listing upgrades, banners, and Vet-Tix Icons.

Why do you require so much to add a gun show?

It benefits everyone! The more information a promoter provides for their gun show the more likely people are to attend it. Also, vendors tend to use our site to find gun shows to participate in.

Why does it take 48 hours to add a gun show?

In most cases it doesn’t. A gun show is usually added/updated within 12 hours. With that being said, in special cases including weekends, holidays, traveling to gun shows, etc… Gun Show Trader may take a little longer to update.
