Went to this show on a Saturday, going to give out a few pointers:
– $12 FREAKING DOLLARS PARKING.
– $8 entrance fee with a coupon. Not so bad but I’m $20 in now just to get to the convention.
– As soon as I entered, ATF table with 2 of their pawns were sitting there gawking at everyone for some NFA items.
– First room/section is nothing but cleaning supplies and old garage junks that littered all over the table.
– 2nd room/section, got a little bit better. Some interesting completed ARs ranging around okay prices. ONLY one table there were dedicated to selling AR custom parts and builds. The rest were literally just freaking junks.
– One of the biggest thing that I gripe about this show is that by 4:15 pm, 40% of the freaking tables start packing up and closing shop already…the show closed at 5 pm. I mean dude, what is this? this is WORST than a flea market, how lazy can you guys get to start packing everyone up 45 minutes before the show is over?
Overally, definitely NOT WORTH every penny.
It’s time someone puts on a good show , there’s too many non gun related vendors and too many of the same old dealers waiting to knock someone’s head off with there high prices. NRG is always there to take the last dollar of your paycheck with there super high parking and cones ion fees.
Bring back the shows of the 70’s and 80’s
A sinking ship, I’ve always looked forward to the hgca show, not any more, same old dealers in the exact same spot selling the same overpriced guns they were peddling a few months ago, no less than three booths with aggressive salespeople selling massagers or something, satellite tv, come on!!! sad part is, other than a couple of private sellers they were the only ones actually trying to sell something, pathetic, even a hgca member with a private sale table sitting there with earplugs in and playing solitare on his iPad while people walked by his table, way to promote!! Pathetic! This used to be such a cool show that I looked forward to, not anymore, I won’t be back, I’ve seen a couple of worse shows.
The show was pretty good — not too overloaded with non-gun related junk like some shows I’ve been to recently. There was a good mix of old and new.
