I’ve attended this show several years in a row from six hours away. ( So. IN)
It’s always interesting, friendly, organized and safe.
I’ve had great success buying reload ammo and bought a nice 9mm two years ago. This is my bro-in-laws and my Black Friday tradition while the girls get even at the malls. Happy Holidays.
I have a question. I’m from Michigan. If I purchase a gun this weekend.. will it have to be shipped or can I take it home that day.?
If you purchase a gun at the gun show in Michigan this weekend, you can typically take it home the same day. However, it’s essential to ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal laws regarding firearm purchases and transfers. We recommend consulting with the vendors or organizers at the show for specific details and guidance on the process.
Kellie,
If you purchase a pistol, it will have be shipped to a FFL of your choice. Long guns can walk.

Randy scott seems anti big box. Maybe because like many other small time ffl’s, or some of the other “dealers’ who dont have ffls he probably has pretty high prices. Some may call that price gouging.
If you have cash never pay full price. Most of these guys are hurting for a sale. Make your offers low. Be careful, lots of not so honest sellers. Use your smart phone to check prices. Be very careful buying old ammo. For one it’s probably cheaper online. For two you have no idea what has been done to it, how it’s been stored or if it’s safe to shoot. Especially reloads. And be careful buying/selling firearms between states without an ffl transfer. THAT IS ILLEGAL!!. Lots of “dealers”, at least that’s what they call themselves, will tell you it’s legal. ITS NOT!! Or they dont say anything and push an illegal sale. Is it worth committing a felony to over pay for that gun? NO WAY.
IF you’re careful, and check prices it’s a nice show.
I am an FFL and went to the Elkhart Show for the first time. Very nice venue, lots of Security and Staff. I cannot beat the blow out prices at Big Box, but I take trades and offer Higher Quality merchandise. If you want Cheap shop Big Box, good luck if you have a problem.
This show has it’s ups and downs, you can find better deals on ammo, but there can be the unexpected. It really depends on what you are after. Wish they had more old stuff. It’s a never know until you go at any of the shows you go to. You just never know what you are going to get.
Ernie is spot on. Not a lot of Old Stuff, but 0ne million more times than at Big Box. Last time I checked you couldn’t get a Zeiss Scope at Big Box either, enough said.
This show has been on a downward slide for a few years. Prices are higher than local shops including sporting goods stores. Also appears local shops have quit going, very little in the way of guns at the gun show.
Show sucked, not much selection.
First time going to this show.
Negatives are poor lighting and retail prices on most everything.
Went to this show for the first time today and have to say was quite happy. The location was easy to find, parking was good, vendors and staff were helpful, friendly and willing to negotiate. A good variety of weapons and merchandise. Overall a good experience. God Bless America and Thank you to our Armed Forces FOR DEFENDING OUR FREEDOM!!!!
Went on Friday and only half the tables were filled, almost no one outside. If you are going to have a three day show, at least have people there to sell.
