I’ve been attending this show since the late seventies . It was a great event for several years ; but as someone else previously stated ; the tactical crowd took over . That’s about as interesting as watching paint dry . Plus ; many of the dealers have a bad attitude towards customers . No thanks .

Changes in Illinois gun laws have thrown dealers for a loop this year, so vendors must reconfigure their show displays — and of course it looks different than in the “before times.” If we don’t support the industry because we’re mad at what the politicians did, we’re only helping the politicians take away our choices.

This is still a pretty good show. They changed the ending time from 4:00 to 3:00PM Sunday to keep the dealers from leaving too early. Seems to be working. Only $5.00 to get in. The shows in St. Louis are charging $12.00 and they are only a little bigger (500 vs 400 tables).

This was a poor gun show with a few guns worthy of inspection. Those worth considering were generally overpriced. Over 35% of the show was knives. Another 35% was pure junk. Again the 35% that was guns they were either junky or overpriced. I will never attend again.

I’m somewhat feeling the same way . It’s becoming more of a tactical firearm thing that what it used to be ; a wide variety of several more traditional firearms . Sad , in my opinion .

THIS SHOW REALLY WAS GREAT IN THE 1980’S AND THROUGH THE MID 90’S. IT IS DIMINISHED FROM THE HEYDAY BUT IT IS WORTH GOING. BARGAINS ARE HARD TO FIND ANYMORE. SATURDAY IS THE BEST DAY TO GO. THEY HAVE TO PACK UP AND BE OUT BY SUNDAY NIGHT. SO, THE VENDORS START PACKING UP AS THE DOORS OPEN ON SUNDAY.
