Went to my first ever gun show Feb 23, 2025 at Stout Field. I was hoping to find some good deals on ammo and maybe a few gun accessories. I was more than disappointed. Arriving I went to the table to pay. Behind a folding table, we a girl with a hoodie on her head laying back in her chair like she was ready for a nap, and two younger guys who I would cross the street to avoid. Behind me in line standing too close for my comfort were 2 punks in their early 20′ who had just smoked pot and were reeking of it. So much so the 3 behind the table made comments about it. Inside I found most of the vendors were very polite, a few were pushy, and a couple we just rude. I was asking one vendor about the gas tube on his 5.56 upper and he clapped at me like I was an idiot. Not a very good approach for a seller wanting to get my money. Best price on ammo I found was 500 rds of .22 Aquila for $42″marked down from $60″. That’s 8 cents a round. Academy has the same box for $28 on sale. Normal price is $39. Best gun price I saw was a Winchester Wildcat for $199. But the last-round-bolt-hold-open wasn’t working, so there was an issue with it. Other than that every optic, gun and accessory was more than gun shops and box stores. Magpul P-Mag 30rd mags for $15. Glock 27 mags for $30. Give me a break. I was there an hour and spent $0. Wasted drive, wasted $6 , and waste time.
$6 entry fee and free parking, you really can’t beat it. Yes, it can get a bit crowded but it’s really not bad. Pretty much every table has gun or knife stuff, no BS like the 1500. Most of the vendors are smaller and easy to deal with.
If you live within an hour’s drive it’s worth the trip a few times a year. I used to go to the 1500 regularly but last time I went it was $10 to park and $15 per person, so it cost my wife and I $40 just to walk in the door. Here it’s only $12 for the both of us, even if we don’t buy anything it’s not a bad way to spend a morning just going to look around.
It’s a good show. Its fun to scout out and I want to set up in the future.
Im from ft.wayne never been to show if its that crowded i don’t want to drive down there where else can u go for a gun show kinda close to ft.wayne the one here is not good please help
Hi Ronk! I totally understand your concern about crowded shows, especially if you’re making a bit of a drive. No worries, We’ve got you covered! If you’re looking for gun shows near Fort Wayne, I’d recommend checking out the ones listed here: https://gunshowtrader.com/local/IN/Ft_Wayne/
Feel free to take a look and see if there’s one that suits you better. Let me know if you need any more help!
I just went to the last show they had. It was not that crowded. I went on Sunday afternoon, last day of show. I have been to shows that were busy. The Indy 500 gun and blade show at the fairgrounds is larger but cost to enter is much higher. You pay to park and $15 to get in. Only $6 at the NG Armory show.
purchased my first firearm there.
Overcrowded with tables packed too close together. Very uncomfortable.
Not recommended as a “Gun Show”.
I used to be a vendor at this show 30 years ago. It hasn’t changed much at all and is just as good now as it was then. I’m surprised people say this is like a flea market. The Indy 1500 seems to have trouble selling tables and they have whole areas of food, and flea market items.
The rows in the back, larger room were “one person” wide. Terribly uncomfortable and difficult to walk this show. If you have to cram that many venders into the back room you might try having one way rows.
I use to really like this show but they have put so many tables in there that it is hard to walk down the aisle. It is way to crowded
Great time, alot of local vendors. Many different genre..I
Always look forward to it.
A very average gun show that is nothing like the 1500 gun and knife show but still a gun show.
More like a garage sale/flea market than a gun show.
One of the most boring, lame gun shows I’ve ever attended, consistently.
More like a garage sale than gun show.
GOOD PEOPLE GOOD DEALS!
