The Ultimate show in April was nothing like the other shows held there. The venue was not full of vendors. Lots of non gun related items. Very few FFLs and more private sellers. The rows were disorganized with just a handful of wall vendors. Line to get in didn’t move due to one lady taking money and putting a wrist band on you. And a very loud big man on the speaker boasting about the line and a highly inflated attendance number. I’ll save my money for another show.
We are sorry that you did not enjoy the show. There were a TOTAL of 6 non gun and knife related vendors in the show.
The fact that we had a line all through lunchtime was actually very unusual, it was very different from other shows in general.
Everyone that we spoke to said it was a night and day improvement over the shows that were held there before.
By the way, we are just curious, what promoter do you work for anyway? We understand your problem with us letting in 2000 military free. Lastly, that sweet woman at the door deserves your apology, she has been doing this for over 35 YEARS, and is very good at what she does. We would love for you to try it, and see if you are any faster.
P.S. IF you are in fact a real person, feel free to come to the next show, apologize to the lady, we will let you in free and you and that big guy can sit down and he will listen to your ideas about how to improve the show. We are not above learning.
Gunshows are driven by the volume of funds that come through the door and are ACTUALLY exchanged for goods/services. I have been a customer and a dealer ( setting up in 3 shows per weekend all over the US ) since the 1970’s. Do to lack of spending, fewer dealers are showing up. A large percentage of dealers are simply mom/pop that can’t afford to set up, Friday-Sunday and not make a profit. During Fast & Furious the cartel buyers thought I was ATF and routinely stopped by my booths and inquired how the weather was while carrying arm loads of black guns/ammo out the doors. It’s NEVER the dealer’s or Show Promoter’s control over the quality of a show. It’s YOUR’S, if a show sucks, walk into the show’s restroom, take a long hard look in the mirror. Live long and prosper my friends.
I went to two of these shows in the last two years and they weren’t small shows, there were 100’s of tables with with a good variety of guns, knives, and ammo with none of the Flea Market tables. That’s fine with me I go for the guns.
This gun show has grown to be quite large in 2021. From Glocks to Wilson Combat, and .22 shorts, to 50 bmg! However, ammo prices at all gun shows seem to be high for me. I’m kinda cheap, though. There’s a good chance to find somebody selling 9mm/brass for $20/box of 50 at Belton. Good selection of guns and great people.
The last Gun Show in Belton had more than 100 tables and it was a great experience.
Don’t waste your time. Barely three rows of tables, and those weren’t full. Waste of money.
As the promoter ,of The Real Texas Gun Show, we are always looking for ways to improve the gun show. The face of gun shows are changing in general to the type products being sold. We cater primarily to the smaller single person vendors to bring in a larger variety of fire are arms for the patrons to purchase. However many of these vendors are getting up in age and reducing the number of gun shows they exhibit at, or retiring due to age/health problems and it is sad. These vendors have such a vast knowledge of the older classic fire arms, the ones that if could talk tell one whopping story that is our history. It seems like every week the list of older mainstay vendors gets smaller and smaller due to mainly age and health issues. Yes the ATF, are trying put the non FFL dealers out of business as well. Do you realize when you fill out an gun application, your basically asking the government’s permission for you to purchase that fire arm??
