All about Sun Mountain Gun Club
Ranges and Disciplines
The club offers a variety of shooting venues, catering to shotgun, rifle, and pistol shooters:
-
Sporting Clays: Features a challenging, regularly updated 14-station course. This discipline is the closest simulation to actual field hunting.
-
Trap: Offers two trap fields for American Trap, including single, double wobble, and doubles shooting.
-
Pistol Bays: The facility has four 35-yard outdoor pistol bays. Shotguns are also permitted in this area for patterning/defense practice.
-
Rifle Range: The covered outdoor rifle range features targets placed at distances of 100 and 200 yards.
Ammunition Restrictions: For the shotgun areas (Sporting Clays and Trap), only $7 \frac{1}{2}$ and 8 shot is allowed. Steel shot, buckshot, and slugs are prohibited in these areas.

The club primarily operates as a membership facility, with some services open to the public:
