All about Prince Georges County Trap and Skeet Center

The Prince George’s Trap and Skeet Center is a premier shotgun clay target shooting facility. Our facility is one of only 47 Gun Clubs in the U.S. that offer the Olympic Games of International Trap (also known as International Bunker) and International Skeet. Whether enjoyed as a personal hobby or competitive sport, clay target shooting can become an enjoyable lifetime activity.

Our Mission Statement

The mission of the M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation, in partnership with County residents, is to provide comprehensive park and recreation programs, facilities, and services that support healthy lifestyles and respond to changing needs within County communities. The Department strives to preserve, enhance, and protect open spaces to enrich the quality of life for the present and future generations in a safe and secure environment.

Large modern facilities provide fun and challenging games for beginner to experienced shooters:

• 22-station Sporting Clays Course with covered stations
• 8 Trap fields, 13 Skeet fields

Services & Age Requirements

All services are first-come, first-served, with no reservations required. All shotguns and shells are subject to inspection. Check in at the clubhouse to purchase tickets to shoot.

Ages 17 & under are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Range minimum age is 14 to participate. Age 14-17 must have parental guidance present.

Membership Fees:

The Prince George's County Trap and Skeet Center operates on a pay-per-use basis rather than requiring memberships. This allows individuals to pay for the specific activities they engage in without the need for a long-term commitment.

• Skeet & Trap Ranges: Approximately $6.50 - $7.00 per round (25 targets)
• Five-Stand & Sporting Clays: Approximately $7.50 - $9.00 per round (25 targets)

Prices may vary slightly depending on the time and specific events, so it's a good idea to check directly with the center for the most accurate information.

Activities:

The Prince George's County Trap and Skeet Center offers a variety of shooting sports activities, including:

• Trap Shooting: Traditional American trapshooting where participants shoot clay targets launched from a single "house" or machine.
• Skeet Shooting: Participants shoot clay targets from two "houses" in a crossing pattern, simulating the flight of birds.
• Sporting Clays: Often referred to as "golf with a shotgun," this activity involves shooting clay targets from various stations, simulating different hunting scenarios.
• Five-Stand: A condensed version of sporting clays, with five shooting stations and a variety of target presentations.

Additional Amenities:

• Pro Shop: The center has a pro shop that offers shooting supplies, ammunition, and accessories.
• Instruction: The center offers shooting lessons and clinics for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced shooters.
• Clubhouse: A clubhouse is available for participants to relax and socialize.
