About Midland Shooters Association, Inc.
Organizational Structure
MSA members elect a Board of Directors, which consists of:
-
Club Officers (president, secretary, treasurer)
-
R&P Range Board of Management
-
Shotgun Range Board of Management
The full Board of Directors is responsible for overall Association management, and each Board of Management is responsible for operations at their respective range.
All of the directors are regular MSA members who volunteer their time to help make our club the best it can be.
Rifle & Pistol Range
MSA's Rifle & Pistol Range is located about 5 miles south of Interstate 20 in Midland. Except for occasional (and rare) maintenance closures the range is open to our members and their guests from sunrise to sunset, 365 days a year. Even when individual range areas are closed for maintenance or competition, the rest of the facility is available for member use.
After attending orientation you will receive your own key to the R&P facility. We have 9 separate range areas, totaling over 160 firing points, ranging in distance from point blank to 500 meters. Whether you shoot rifle or pistol, enjoy recreational or competitive shooting, prefer action sports or precision shooting, we are sure to have a range area that suits your needs.
Shotgun Range
MSA's Shotgun Range is a full-service facility conveniently located between Midland and Odessa (see map below). The clubhouse is open Wednesday thru Sunday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm (weather permitting).
The range is equipped with:
-
Helice field
-
8 trap 5 Stand
-
Two 15 station Sporting Clays Courses (with 45- and 90-foot towers)
-
5 station sub-gauge Sporting Clays Course.
Everything is equipped with voice release systems so you can shoot solo if need be. We welcome all our members to come and enjoy the pleasure of clay target shooting in a safe and friendly shooting environment!
If you are new to clay target shooting and are unfamiliar with the different shooting disciplines, we will be more than happy to assist you and explain each of the shooting games so you can decide which you would prefer to shoot. Some have a greater degree of difficulty, but all are fun to shoot!
Membership
Any citizen or legal resident alien of the United States, eighteen years or older, may become a provisional member of Midland Shooters Association by subscribing to our Membership Pledge and paying membership dues (currently $200.00 per year).
A provisional member enjoys the same range privileges as a regular member, and becomes a regular member upon approval by the Board of Directors. Provisional members are typically approved at the next Board of Directors meeting after joining.
