Lakeland Rifle & Pistol Club
Since 1968, the Lakeland Rifle & Pistol Club has served Central Florida as a private membership club where responsible shooters become members, not just customers. Located on 28 acres in Lakeland, Florida, our facility offers comprehensive shooting disciplines with one membership—something few ranges in the area can match.
Facilities & Ranges
Our members and their families enjoy year-round access to well-maintained ranges across all major shooting disciplines:
Rifle Ranges: 25, 50, and 100 yards with covered shooting positions, individual benches, and target house systems
Pistol Ranges: Training range at 7 and 12 yards for close-range practice and sighting-in, plus 25, 50, and 100-yard ranges (100-yard pistol shooting requires qualification)
Shotgun Ranges: Dedicated trap, skeet, and five-stand fields with multiple clay target throwers, including solar-powered automatic throwers on select stations. Patterning board available with 20, 30, and 40-yard distances marked.
All ranges feature covered shooting positions to protect from sun and rain, numbered positions for organized use, hot/cold range safety lights, and PA systems for matches and training events. Our ranges are spacious and rarely crowded, giving members room to practice comfortably.
Membership & Access
Membership is open to those who share our commitment to safety, marksmanship excellence, and community stewardship. New members complete our Blue Card Process, which includes a Level II background check ($100 application fee), online and in-person orientation with live-fire demonstration, meeting with our Board of Directors, participation in two club matches, and completion of two volunteer shifts. The process is flexible and can be completed on your schedule, culminating in a membership vote at a General Membership Meeting.
Members have access from 8am to 8pm, 365 days per year. Members may bring guests; a maximum of two people can shoot simultaneously (if two guests are shooting, the member must supervise and cannot shoot).
Matches & Programs
We host regular matches in pistol (monthly), rifle, and shotgun disciplines. Matches are open to non-members for a fee, with reduced rates for members. Our free Junior Program serves community youth ages 7-17 from October through April each month, introducing young people to safe, supervised shooting sports.
The club also hosts the Central Florida Gun Show in January, May, and September each year, with proceeds supporting club operations and programs.
Our Philosophy
At LRPC, we maintain our ranges with care through a small dedicated staff and support from qualified member volunteers who coordinate matches and community events. We're more than a shooting facility—we're a community of responsible shooters committed to safety, skill development, and stewardship of the shooting sports.
