Facilities and Ranges
KISA operates two primary locations, offering options for year-round use despite Alaska's volatile weather:
-
Indoor Range: Located north of the city on Monashka Bay Road, this facility is used for pistol, small-bore rifle, and airgun shooting. It is a critical asset during the winter months and hosts various league matches and training clinics.
-
Outdoor Range (Salonie Creek): Situated roughly 11.5 miles south of Kodiak, this expansive facility features:
-
Rifle Range: Shooters can engage targets at distances up to 500 yards.
-
Pistol Range: Dedicated lanes for handgun practice.
-
Specialized Areas: The outdoor site often includes areas for trap (shotgun) and metallic silhouette shooting.
