Facility and Ranges

The DSA provides a private outdoor shooting environment designed for various disciplines. While specific configurations can change with seasonal upgrades, the facility generally features:

• Rifle and Pistol Ranges: Dedicated areas for both long-gun and handgun practice, typically including covered shooting benches to accommodate Alaska’s varied weather.

• Archery Support: The association often facilitates archery activities and maintains space for bowhunters.

• Clubhouse: A central facility used for meetings, hunter education courses, and community social events. It notably features a bar and hosting area that opens on Friday nights for member potlucks.

Services and Programs

Beyond basic range access, the DSA is highly active in organized sports and education:

• Leagues and Competitions: The club hosts bench matches, high-power rifle competitions, and winter/summer leagues. It has a strong reputation for its junior shooting programs, producing several state and national-level competitors.

• Education: DSA frequently hosts Women on Target clinics, hunter safety courses, and concealed carry (CCW) classes.

• Youth Development: Programs like "Beginning Safety & Bench" for ages 8 and up focus on introducing the next generation to responsible firearm ownership.
