All about Big Timber Rifle and Pistol Club
Facilities and Ranges
The club features several specialized outdoor ranges designed for different distances and disciplines:
-
500-Meter Rifle Range: The club’s signature feature, suitable for precision and long-range shooting.
-
50-Yard Rifle/Pistol Range: A versatile range for mid-range practice.
-
25-Yard Pistol Range: Focused on handgun marksmanship; it now permits pistol-caliber carbines (chambered in .22 LR or standard pistol calibers).
-
50-Yard Archery Range: A dedicated space for archers using field points.
-
Classroom: On-site space used for safety orientations, club meetings, and law enforcement training.
Services and Membership
-
Membership: The membership year runs from July to June. New members are required to attend a mandatory range orientation to ensure safety and familiarity with club rules.
-
Events and Competitions: BTRPC hosts various scheduled matches, including .22 Rimfire, Cast Bullet, and an annual "Fire Extinguisher Shoot."
-
Safety Requirements: Eye and hearing protection are mandatory. The range operates on "Hot" and "Cold" designations, with specific rules prohibiting 50 BMG firearms, tracer rounds, and steel targets closer than 10 yards for pistols.
-
Local Support: Membership applications and range keys are typically handled through Wesley’s Trading Post in Siletz.
