You cant buy nothing in Kamifornia if you are from out of state. About the only thing oyou can buy is a long gun over 50 years old. But come 2014 not even that since long guns will have to be registered. Just buy from whatever free state your from……

U might say everithing u want about California , but a handgunsafety certi, is a very reasonable thing to have. Imagine any idiot out there with a handgun.

    • PRISONGUARD1 says

After working in a gun shop for awhile and administering the “Handgun Safety Test” almost everyone passes on first try. Those few that didn’t was a language issue and one complete idiot. After reading the handbook, they also pass. Would I want any of these people on the range beside me? “NO”. Being trained before getting the HSC would be a safer bet. I am not “PRO-GOVERNMENT”, but when it comes to slingin’ lead, I would rather be surrounded by competent shooters, you? WE have to practice what we learn.

      • 1911man says

I agree with prisonguard. I shoot with a small group of friends. We are all knowledgable and safety conscious. If we invite a beginner to the range, one of us is with them, watching at all times. But the problem with public ranges is, you don’t know everyone there.

  4. Chad says

Every idiot out there DOES have a handgun; we call those idiots “thugs,” “gang members,” and “criminals.” Now, if only all of us law-abiding citizens could stop getting harassed by these petty laws that do nothing to stop crime and just make it harder to defend our families from “any idiot.”

    • 1911man says

I practice shooting weekly. Your average thug does not. Thugs usually spray, and if they do hit someone, it’s a by-stander by accident. If you practice regularly, you will outshoot a thug.

Can’t get a handgun even if I wanted to, still 18. I think it’s a bit ridiculous that you’re considered an adult by law at 18+ yet cannot buy a handgun until you’re 21. In my opinion, any adult no matter the age should be considered mature enough to buy a handgun.

  5. Ron Gottheiner says

I am disabled & can NOT walk far at all. I don’t have an electric wheelchair to bring. How far would I need to walk to get in (ballpark)? What day & time would be the best for me to get there? I come from Madera. Thanks…

    • ruth says

Don’t know if any one replied to you Ron last year but Fresno is a large one building show. I have a bad back but I’ll walk the whole building in pain and go home in pain down to my legs but it can be done. Good luck.

    • PRISONGUARD1 says

Sorry Robert, no. You probably already found this out. Whoever administered your test is required to check your I.D. By your age alone they should have not even taken your money. The card is good for 5 years, but 3 of those years for you will be wasted.

    • 1911man says

There are no expert gun appraisers at gun shows. There are dealers there who want to separate you from your gun for as little out of their pockets as they can. Get on the Internet where there are gun auctions and other sources that will give you an idea of its value.

Don’t know if anyone replied to your comment last year Ron about the Fresno gun show. I have gone to it. It is a large one building show. I have a bad back I have walked the whole building in pain and have gone home in pain, It is possible to do. I am disabled too. They have disabled parking and sometimes you can find parking on the street closer to the building. Good luck, Ruth

  7. says

Oh Ron forgot. It’s not very far from the building to the parking. Best time? I’d say Definitely not first thing Saturday if you’re looking for ammo there will be a rush on it. It was crazy like a swarm of bees around ammo table.

  8. Eric says

Do they give out freebies like stickers hats, patches etc? I heard that in other events like the shotshow or other gun shows they giv out shirts hats etc. Just wondering
