All about Willow River Rod & Gun Club
Facilities and Ranges:
The club is well-equipped for multiple shooting and archery disciplines, featuring:
- Rifle Range: Located on the south edge of the property, this range has target backers at 25, 50, 100, and 200 yards.
- Pistol / Rimfire Range: Used for both pistol and .22 caliber rimfire shooting.
- Trap Ranges: Two trap ranges are located on either side of the clubhouse, which utilize automatic throwers primarily for league use.
- Patterning Range: Dedicated area between the trap ranges for patterning shotguns.
- Archery Ranges: Includes an outdoor range with targets at 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 yards, and a 3-D archery course used for tournaments and warm-weather practice. An indoor archery range is also available, typically for league shooting.
- Clubhouse: A central facility used for meetings, leagues, and events. It includes restrooms accessible at any time with the gate key, and offers food and beverages for purchase during events.
- Children's Play Area: A small play area is provided near the clubhouse.
Services and Activities:
The club is very active in hosting competitive and recreational events, including:
- Leagues: It hosts multiple leagues, including Archery Leagues, Trap Leagues (including a High School Trap League), and an Accuracy Shooting League.
- Accuracy Shooting League: This features separate groups for Rimfire (shot at the Pistol/Rimfire Range) and Centerfire rifles (shot at the Rifle Range for 100-yard and 200-yard accuracy).
- Meetings and Events: The clubhouse is regularly used for board meetings and various club events.
- Volunteerism: The club encourages members to volunteer for facility maintenance and other club operations.
