Facilities and Ranges:
The club's ranges are primarily outdoors and cater to rifle and pistol disciplines. Key ranges include:
- High Power Rifle Range: A flagship feature with covered firing points at distances up to 1,000 yards. This range is popular for long-range precision and competition shooting.
- Milt Hood Silhouette Range: Extends to 500 meters with full-sized steel animal targets, suitable for various caliber rifles.
- Tactical Bays: Multi-use bays with props and barricades designed for dynamic shooting sports like USPSA and 3-Gun.
- Smallbore and Pistol Ranges: Dedicated ranges for .22 caliber rimfire rifles and pistols.
- Public Sight-In Range: A 100-meter range with covered benches for general use and zeroing firearms.
Services and Membership:
The Tucson Rifle Club is a membership-based organization, but its ranges are also open to the public for a daily fee. Members get year-round access and other benefits. The club is an affiliate of the Civilian Marksmanship Program, which allows members to purchase rifles and ammunition from the CMP.
The club hosts a variety of shooting competitions, including monthly long-range prone matches, and offers a supervised environment for all shooters. It is dedicated to promoting firearm safety and the shooting sports for both members and the public.
