Description
All about Shiocton Shooting Range
Ranges: The range offers several different areas to accommodate various shooting disciplines:
- Rifle Ranges: There are two main rifle ranges. One has firing lines at 50 and 100 yards. The other, a longer-distance range, accommodates shooting at 200, 300, and 500 yards. A gravel road allows shooters to drive closer to check their targets.
- Handgun Range: A dedicated range for handguns is available at 18 yards.
- Archery Range: The facility also includes an archery range with multiple stations.
Covered shooting tables and stationary target stands are available at each range.
Services: The range operates with a pay-per-use system, offering a daily pass or an annual pass. Fees are paid at the range using envelopes at pay stations. The range is volunteer-run, and individuals interested in helping can contact the Shiocton Police Department. Occasional closures for maintenance, special events, or law enforcement training are posted in advance. The range is managed to be user-friendly and safe, with a focus on individual shooters cleaning up their area after use.
