Facility and Ranges

The range offers both indoor and outdoor shooting areas with covered stations for protection from the weather.

• Indoor Range: Features 14 lanes equipped with electric target returns.

• Outdoor Ranges: Includes 12 lanes usable at 12, 25, and 50 yards, as well as 6 dedicated 100-yard rifle lanes. The 100-yard lanes have specific ammunition restrictions, generally prohibiting steel-core, tracer, and full metal jacket (FMJ) ammunition.

• Capacity: It is one of the few remaining public indoor/outdoor ranges in the Bay Area.

Services and Activities

The range primarily provides an open, low-cost shooting destination for the public but has several structured programs:

• Range Access: General admission is available for a single daily fee with no hourly time limit during regular operating hours.

• Products & Rentals: Ammunition, targets, safety glasses, and ear protection are available for purchase. Spotting scopes, safety glasses, and ear muffs are available for rent.

  • Note: The facility does not rent out firearms.

• Specialized Activities:

  • Saturday Night Steel Shoot (SNSS): A competition held after hours where shooters engage reactive steel targets, often involving drawing from a holster and rapid firing.

  • Junior Rifle Club: A marksmanship program for youth aged 12 to 20, focusing on safety, smallbore rifle handling, and shooting skills following NRA courses. The indoor range is reserved for this club on Wednesday evenings.

  • Rifle & Pistol League: Hosts the 600x Northern California Air/Rimfire Rifle & Pistol League competitions.

• Instructor Support: The club has NRA-certified staff and offers complimentary bore sighting for most scoped firearms when a Range Safety Officer (RSO) is available. Private classroom rentals are also available for independent instructors.
