All about Regina Fish and Game League

Facilities:
The RFGL boasts a comprehensive range of outdoor facilities:
- Shotgun/Trap Range: Available for member use, with the option to bring personal throwers or utilize a manual thrower. The club aims to organize events with an automatic thrower when a trap director is available.
- Handgun Ranges: Several distinct handgun ranges are available, maintained by affiliated clubs:
- GPSA Handgun Club Range: A 50-meter PPS (Precision Pistol Shooting) style range.
- RAPS Handgun Club Range: A 50-meter IPSC (International Practical Shooting Confederation) styled action shooting range, also used by the Biathlon Club.
- RWF Handgun Club Range: A 50-meter general handgun target shooting range.
- Indoor Range: A 25-meter indoor range for handguns, archery, and .22 caliber shooting. This range is not for general use but is available through specific handgun club schedules and bookings. It also includes meeting facilities for up to 75 people.
- Archery Ranges: Includes a static archery range and a 3D course set through trees. There is also a Fita range, which can accommodate crossbows.
- Large Bore Rifle Range: Extends to 300 meters, with steel targets at 100 and 200 meters, along with target boards.
- Black Powder Range: A 200-meter range for black powder firearms.
- Small Bore Rifle Range: A 75-meter range.
- Clubhouse: A central building with banquet and meeting facilities capable of accommodating up to 150 people.
- Picnic Areas and Children's Playground: Enhancing the family-friendly atmosphere.
- Washrooms: Main washrooms are open seasonally, with portable toilets available at various range locations.
Services and Membership:
The Regina Fish and Game League primarily serves its members, but also offers introductory opportunities:
- Membership: The club operates on a membership-only basis. Members in good standing can purchase guest passes to bring one guest at a time to the range, taking full responsibility for their guest. Memberships are valid for 365 days from the date of purchase.
- New Member Process: New members (those who did not hold a membership in the previous year) undergo an approval process by the Board of Directors and may be required to attend an on-site range orientation. This orientation ensures members are aware of all safety rules and range procedures, contributing to a safe environment.
- "Open House" Events: The RFGL typically hosts an annual "Open House" day, often coinciding with National Range Day. These events are open to the public and offer a chance for non-members to tour the facilities, try various firearms under supervision (shotgun, rifle, etc.), and enjoy a free BBQ. This serves as an excellent "come and try" opportunity.
- Competitions and Activities: The club hosts various shooting competitions and regular club nights (e.g., Pistol Club meets outdoors on Monday nights). They also partner with organizations like Delta Waterfowl to offer educational events, such as "Waterfowl Hunting 101."
- No Firearm Rentals: It's important to note that the Regina Fish and Game League does not rent firearms.
- Safety and Rules: The club has comprehensive range rules and procedures, emphasizing safety. All members are required to sign in and out of a log book and use their access FOBs for entry and exit. A Range Officer has full authority on the range when on duty.
The Regina Fish and Game League is dedicated to providing a safe, well-maintained, and enjoyable environment for sport shooting and related outdoor activities, fostering a strong community among its members.
