🎯 Ranges and Disciplines
The club offers a variety of ranges to support both members and the public, catering to diverse shooting disciplines:
- Public Range: A covered range open to the public on weekends (with seasonal hours) for rifles and handguns at distances from 10 to 100 yards. It features 27 shooting positions with tables.
- High Power Rifle Range: Dedicated to centerfire rifle competition, this range has firing points at 200, 300, and 500 yards with target pits for conventional NRA/CMP-style matches, Prone/F-class, and specialty shoots.
- Pistol Range (Bullseye): Focuses on precision pistol competitions, including NRA Precision Pistol and CMP Service Pistol events, for both rimfire and centerfire calibers.
- Practical Firearms Range: Dedicated to dynamic, scenario-based competitions using pistol, rifle, or shotgun, such as USPSA and 3-Gun matches.
- Small Bore Rifle Range: A 100-yard range, often utilized for smallbore rifle events and shared with practical shooting bays.
- Archery Range: An auxiliary facility for archery enthusiasts, typically offering targets up to 40 yards.
🛠️ Facilities and Services
The PRGC operates a main range office and offers general facilities like restrooms and a picnic area.
- Public Access: The Public Range is open to non-members on Saturdays and Sundays for a nominal range fee.
- Membership: Active members receive free access to the Public Range and daily, general access to the other ranges from 7:00 AM to sunset, though match/event schedules take priority.
- Safety and Education: The club heavily emphasizes firearms safety and marksmanship, using its facilities to host a variety of rifle and pistol matches which include safety instruction.
- Events: The club hosts numerous scheduled competitions throughout the year across its various divisions (High Power, Pistol, Practical Firearms).
Note: The club observes a Cold Range policy, meaning all firearms must be unloaded and secured at all times until the shooter is on the firing line and instructed to load by a Range Officer. The club does not rent firearms or sell ammunition.
