All about Orwell Gun Club
Ranges and Disciplines:
The club provides facilities for three primary types of shooting:
- Trap Shooting: The club features two dedicated trap ranges. Trap shooting is open to the public on Sundays and Thursday evenings, with a fee structure for both members and non-members. The club also hosts "Turkey Shoots" and has added a doubles trap machine.
- Rifle Range: The facility includes a rifle range with a distance of up to 100 yards.
- Pistol Range: There is a pistol range that extends to 50 feet.
The rifle and pistol ranges are generally open to members and their guests seven days a week. The club also hosts the Grand Valley School district trap club and various clinics like the Appleseed project for rifle marksmanship.
Facilities and Services:
- Clubhouse: The club has a clubhouse that is available for public rental for events. Use of the trap field can be included in a rental package, provided a qualified member is present to operate the trap machine.
- Access: Rifle and handgun range use is restricted to members, qualified instructors, or guests supervised by a member.
- Membership: The club operates on a calendar year membership with fees for individuals and families. Members are also required to complete a set number of volunteer work hours, which can be bought out if not completed.
- Safety: All guests using the facility must sign a liability release form. The consumption of alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited on club property.
