All about Oklahoma City Gun Club
Facilities and Ranges:
The club's most notable feature is its long-range rifle capabilities, including a 1,000-yard precision shooting range equipped with electronic target systems. It also has a 600-yard range with manual target carriers. Beyond long-range rifle, the OKCGC offers dedicated areas for:
- Action Pistol
- Archery
- Benchrest
- Cowboy Action
- Shotgun (Skeet and Sporting Clays)
- High-Power Rifle
- Muzzleloader
- Smallbore
Some ranges have covered shooting bays. The club also has a large meeting room, often called "the barn," and restrooms with running water.
Services and Membership:
The OKCGC is a private club, and membership is required to access its facilities. The process for new members includes paying first-year dues, which cover an initiation fee, and attending an orientation. Members are encouraged to participate in annual workdays, which can involve helping at matches or with club maintenance, in exchange for a dues credit.
The club hosts a variety of public-access competitions, including national championships for disciplines like USPSA, Steel Challenge, and Cowboy Action shooting. They also support women's and junior programs, such as the long-running "Women on Target" clinic. The club's focus is on providing a safe, disciplined, and competitive environment for serious shooters and those looking to develop their skills in various shooting sports.
