  • Pistol Ranges: The club includes dedicated pistol ranges, including an indoor range for pistol shooting, which remains available even when outdoor ranges are closed due to restrictions.
  • Rifle Ranges: Facilities are available for rifle enthusiasts.
  • Shotgun Ranges: The club supports clay target sports like trap shooting.
  • Archery Ranges: Dedicated areas for archery are provided, including an indoor option.

Facilities:

The LASC complex includes several important facilities:

  • Clubhouse: The main building features a clubhouse lounge, a classroom used for orientations and training, and restroom facilities.
  • Access Control: The entire facility is fenced and gated. Members are provided with an access badge (proximity card) and a gate code for entry.
  • Hours: The club is typically open daily from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM for members.

Services and Membership:

The LASC is a members-only club, though it hosts public events throughout the year.

  • Membership: Annual membership is required for regular use, with different tiers available (e.g., NRA member, Non-NRA member, Senior member). Membership fees vary based on NRA affiliation.
  • New Member Orientation: All new and some former members must attend a mandatory New Member Safety Orientation before being granted full access to the facilities and receiving their access badge.
  • Training and Instruction: The club offers certified basic rifle, pistol, and shotgun courses, as well as archery instruction.
  • Community Use: LASC supports youth teams for high school and 4-H archery and clay target sports. It also provides training and qualification facilities for local law enforcement agencies, including the Los Alamos Police Department and the National Park Service.
  • Competitions and Events: LASC hosts internal club matches and larger competitions that draw participants from outside Los Alamos County. They also hold an annual Open Range Day, making the facility available to the public for a fee, often including the opportunity to try out various firearms under instructor supervision.
