All about Langley Rod & Gun Club
Facilities:
- Clubhouse: Features a meeting room, a large hall, a professional kitchen, a bar area, an office, and washrooms. The clubhouse is available for functions sponsored by members.
- Trap Shack: A dedicated building for shotgun sports, offering a meeting place, sign-up for events, and a selection of shotgun ammunition for sale.
- RV Sites: Ten RV sites are available for members, including 20 Amp electric and water hookups.
Gun Ranges:
The club offers a variety of ranges to accommodate different shooting interests:
- Shotgun Ranges:
- Multiple trap/shotgun ranges, some with voice-activated throwing machines for regular, continental, handicap, and doubles trap games.
- Two ranges are equipped for Skeet shooting.
- One range is set up for Five-Stand (Compact Sporting Clays) with various target presentations.
- Rifle Range:
- Covered rifle range with target boards at 40, 50, 75, 100, and 200 yards.
- Used for metallic silhouette and falling plate matches.
- Only .22 caliber non-magnum rifles are allowed due to range backstop limitations.
- Pistol Range:
- Covered pistol range with target boards at 15, 25, and 50 yards.
- Includes bowling pin stands and metallic swingers at 50 yards.
- This range is for pistol calibers and rimfire pistols and rifles only.
- Centrefire handguns are allowed, but magnum and other high-energy loads are prohibited.
- Speed Bays:
- These bays offer a "private" range experience.
- They allow for pistol, rifle, or shotgun use, including shooting on the move and drawing from a holster.
- The range is 0-25 yards with fixed and movable firing lines, popular for shooting personal steel targets.
- Archery Ranges:
- An archery wilderness range with a 3D course.
- An archery practice range, including a covered range for shooting out to 60 yards.
- An outdoor archery range accessible to members seven days a week from 9 AM to dusk.
- An indoor archery range for scheduled sessions.
General Information:
- All ranges are generally open from 9 AM until 8 PM or dusk (whichever is earlier).
- Organized clay target sports typically happen on Thursdays and Sundays.
- Members wishing to use the range facilities must attend a Range Certification class, which is also required every three years for a refresher.
- Eye and ear protection are mandatory on all active ranges.
- All indoor shooters must complete a range orientation and all shooters must sign a "Shooters Agreement" before their first visit.
- The club also offers various memberships (single, family, senior, student, junior) and day passes for the public.
