Facilities and Ranges:
The HRGC offers a variety of ranges to accommodate diverse shooting disciplines:
- Rifle Range: A general rifle range spanning distances from 25 to 250 yards.
- Pistol and Rimfire Ranges: Dedicated ranges for pistol and small-caliber rimfire (.22 LR) shooting. The rimfire range features steel silhouette targets.
- Action Pistol Range: A dedicated area for dynamic action pistol competitions, which is typically closed for competition use only.
- Multi-Use Ranges: Areas open to rifles, pistols, and shotguns (slugs only).
- Trap Ranges: Five separate trap shooting ranges that host weekly open trap sessions and numerous other events.
- Action Shotgun Range: A dedicated range for shotgun shooting with birdshot.
- Shotgun Patterning Range: A specific area for testing a shotgun's shot spread (pattern) using birdshot.
- Specialized Ranges: A dedicated area for Cowboy Action/Wild Bunch Shooting (often re-created as an Old West town), a Silhouette Range, and an Archery Range.
- Clubhouse: Features a clubhouse for member use and social gatherings.
Disciplines and Services:
The club is a hub for competitive shooting, hosting matches and events in several disciplines:
- Action Shooting: Hosts matches in popular dynamic sports like IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association), USPSA (United States Practical Shooting Association), and 3-Gun.
- Traditional: Features Benchrest matches and Trap Leagues.
- Cowboy Action: Home to the Western Wisconsin Wild Bunch, which hosts Cowboy Action and Wild Bunch matches.
- Education: Offers Hunter Education Classes.
Membership and Access:
- Membership: The club requires membership for general use, offering both Annual and Life Memberships. Memberships cover the member, their spouse/significant other, and children under 18.
- Guest Policy: Guests are allowed but must be accompanied by a current member, and a $10 daily guest fee applies.
- Access: Members receive a temporary keypad code or a personalized RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) card for gated entry to the club grounds.
- Events: Non-members are generally welcome to participate in the club's organized shooting events throughout the year, but range use outside of those scheduled events requires membership or being a guest.
- Maintenance: The club is maintained primarily by volunteers.
