All about Canton McKinley Rifle Club
Facilities and Ranges:
The club is situated on an 82-acre property and offers a wide variety of shooting facilities, including:
- Indoor Range: A 50-foot indoor range with 15 firing points. This range is approved for air pistol, air rifle, small-bore rifle (.22 LR), and pistols using .22 LR up to .45 caliber, provided centerfire ammunition uses soft lead bullets at reasonable velocities.
- Outdoor Rifle Range: Features 10 covered benches and additional covered firing points for position rifle matches. It has target holders at 100 yards and 200 yards.
- Outdoor Pistol Range: Provides 87 firing points for 25-yard and 50-yard shooting. The 25-yard target holders are equipped with a turning mechanism for organized pistol competitions.
- Outdoor Multipurpose Range: Has 12 covered firing points with target holders at 50 yards. This range allows shooting at closer distances and can accommodate any caliber smaller than .50 BMG.
Disciplines and Competitions:
CMRC hosts a diverse array of shooting activities and competitions:
- Pistol: Supports leagues and matches for Bullseye Pistol (including a popular 2700-point match), Defensive Pistol, and competitions sanctioned by organizations like the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) and the NRA.
- Rifle: Caters to Smallbore Rifle (.22 LR) in prone and three-position, High-Power Rifle, Bench Rest (rimfire and centerfire), and CMP Rimfire Sporter.
- Other: Hosts Adaptive Rifle and Pistol Shooting programs for shooters with physical disabilities and Archery.

- Junior Programs: A major focus includes Junior Smallbore Rifle, Junior Air Gun, and Junior Pistol programs, often starting with BB-Gun education for ages 8-16.

- Membership: The club offers a single, affordable annual membership fee that covers all family members. New members must pay a one-time application fee.
