Facilities:
The CRPC boasts an indoor shooting range with ten positions, designed for a comfortable and safe shooting experience. Key features include:
- 25-meter Indoor Shooting Range: Equipped with motor-driven target systems for efficient shooting.
- Firearm Compatibility: Handles all handgun calibers up to and including .44 Magnum, as well as smallbore (.22LR) rifles.
- Airgun Range: A separate target system is available for 10-meter air pistol and air rifle shooting.
- Shooting Amenities: Each position includes a shooting bench and spotting scope. Shooting bags and a mechanical Ransom rest are available for use.
- Safety Equipment: Hearing protection and safety glasses are provided free of charge for members.
- Club Room: A comfortable space with seating, TV, a library of shooting-related materials, and refreshments like coffee and soft drinks.
- Pro Shop: Stocks a range of regulation targets, popular ammunition, and reloading supplies.
Gun Ranges:
The CRPC primarily operates an indoor range. Here's a breakdown of what's allowed and during specific times:
- Indoor Range:
- Length: 25 meters.
- Firearms: Handguns up to .44 Magnum, and .22LR rimfire rifles.
- Caliber Restrictions: Pistols are limited to a muzzle energy of 800 ft lbs (e.g., .44 Mag, .45 ACP).
- Ammunition Restrictions: No armor-piercing, tracer, or incendiary rounds allowed.
- Schedule:
- Monday & Wednesday: Smallbore (.22 caliber rimfire rifle/pistol) and airgun only.
- Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday: All approved pistol calibers and .22 caliber rimfire rifle.
- Friday: Dedicated Junior Program.
- Saturday: Special bookings and rifle/pistol competitions.
Membership:
The CRPC offers various membership types, including:
- Full/Family Membership: Covers a main member, a spouse, and juniors (ages 12-18 living at home).
- Junior Membership: For individuals between 12 and 18 years old who are not part of a family membership. Requires a parent or guardian to be present during shooting.
- Disabled Membership: For individuals with mobility impairment (doctor's note required).
- Student Membership: For those registered in a full-time program at a recognized post-secondary institution.
All new members are required to attend a club safety clinic before their first shooting session. A valid Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) or Possession Only License (POL) is typically a prerequisite for membership. The club also hosts league nights for both smallbore rifle and pistol, promoting skill development in a friendly competitive environment.
