All about Burlington Rifle & Revolver Club
Facilities and Gun Ranges:
- Indoor 50-Yard Range: This is the primary shooting area, featuring 11 shooting ports (lanes). It is heated, lit, and ventilated, and includes motor-driven target returns.
- Permitted Firearms: Limited to .22 rimfire rifles (short, long, long rifle) and standard handgun caliber pistols (no magnum or centerfire rifle calibers). Shotguns are allowed with solid projectiles (slugs) only.
- Prohibited Ammunition: No armor-piercing, incendiary, tracer, steel core, steel jacketed projectiles, or .50 BMG caliber.
- Target Use: Paper targets and steel reactive targets are permitted, but steel targets must be shrouded and used under supervision during specific disciplines. All targets must be hung from provided wires.
- Safety: The range is under video surveillance. Strict safety rules are in place, including no shooting closer than 50 feet, no "quick draw" or rapid "combat-style" shooting, and all firearms must be unloaded and visible when not at the firing line. A flashing red light system indicates when people are downrange.
- Outdoor Archery Range: The club also has a 40-yard outdoor archery range.

Membership Information:
- Eligibility: To become a full member, applicants must possess a valid Restricted Possession and Acquisition License (RPAL) and successfully complete a mandatory two-part safety course provided by the club. Junior memberships are available for ages 10-18, and associate memberships are offered at a reduced fee for immediate family members residing at the same address as a full member.
- Access: The club is members-only, with limited guest access.
- Fees: Membership fees are paid annually and include a mandatory Canadian Firearms Institute (CFI) or Canadian Shooting Sports Association (CSSA) membership for insurance purposes. A separate, non-refundable fee applies for the mandatory safety course.
- Hours: The range is generally open 24 hours a day, though there are scheduled closures for maintenance, leagues, and clinics. Office staff are on-site during specific weekday hours.
