The club's extensive grounds allow for diverse target presentations, including targets thrown among trees and rocks, uphill, downhill, incoming, outgoing, and overhead. They utilize a variety of clay targets, from standard 120mm clays to smaller "midi" and "mini" targets, as well as specialized "rabbit" clays that roll along the ground and "battue" targets that twist in flight. Targets are thrown as singles or "doubles" (either on report or simultaneous release).

While primarily focused on sporting clays, the broader Brisbane Gun Club also caters to other shotgun disciplines, including:
