Ranges and Disciplines
BASF caters to an extremely wide variety of shooting sports and archers:
- Rifle and Pistol:
- Main Range: A large, covered range for public recreational shooting with 67 positions at various distances, including 5, 10, 15, 25, 50, and 100 yards, with some positions extending to 200 yards.
- Specialty Rifle Ranges: Includes a 1,000-Yard High Power Range for long-distance enthusiasts and competitors (F-Class, PRS) and a 300-Yard Range with 15 covered lanes.
- Practical Pistol Bays: Multiple bays, including 100-yard and 15-yard options, for disciplines like USPSA, IDPA, and tactical training.
- Silhouette Ranges: Dedicated ranges for Rifle and Pistol Silhouette shooting at steel targets.
- Clay Target Center: A specialty facility offering all traditional clay target games, including Skeet, Trap, and Sporting Clays.
- Archery: The facility includes multiple Outdoor Archery Ranges, an International Archery Federation (FITA) Range, and an Indoor Airgun/Archery building.
- Other: It also features a Mounted Shooting Arena for Cowboy Mounted Shooting.
Facilities and Services
BASF is a full-service complex designed for both recreational shooting and major competitions:
- Accessibility: The facility is open to the public, with no membership required for general use. It hosts state, regional, and national-level events.
- Education and Safety: Highly trained Range Safety Officers (RSOs) are always on the firing lines. The facility offers various educational programs, including:
- Introduction to Shooting Classes for all skill levels, including ladies-only classes.
- Hunter Education courses.
- Youth Programs, such as the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP).
- Amenities:
- Multiple Classroom and Stat House buildings.
- The Clay Target Center has a large Pavilion banquet hall for corporate events and banquets.
- Camping: On-site campgrounds are available for those attending events and matches.
- The Indoor Airgun/Archery building is air-conditioned and configurable.
The facility is primarily funded by user fees and federal funds from the Pittman-Robertson Act, ensuring its continual operation and high-quality experience.
