Services and Programs:
The Arnold Rifle & Pistol Club provides a variety of programs and services, primarily for its members:
- Match Programs: The ARPC hosts a wide array of competitive shooting matches and programs throughout the year, including:
- IPSC (International Practical Shooting Confederation) / USPSA: Dynamic handgun and sometimes rifle shooting, focusing on speed and accuracy in simulated scenarios.
- IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association): A practical competitive shooting discipline focused on concealed carry defensive tactics, with stages simulating real-life scenarios. Non-members can shoot monthly IDPA matches for a fee.
- Steel Plate: Matches involving shooting at metal targets, emphasizing speed and precision.
- .22 Silhouette: A group for shooting metallic silhouette targets with .22 caliber rifles.
- Black Powder: Programs for those interested in shooting muzzleloaders and other black powder firearms.
- Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP): Opportunities for members to learn NRA rules for high-power rifle matches, primarily using military-type rifles with iron sights.
- F-Class: Precision rifle shooting with specific equipment rules, adapted to be accessible and fun for a wider variety of shooters at ARPC.
- Youth Programs: The club strongly supports youth involvement in shooting sports with four dedicated programs. They offer a free Junior Shooters program, open to the public, for young people aged 11 to 21. This program, led by NRA-certified instructors, teaches gun safety and marksmanship using smallbore rimfire rifles, with all necessary equipment provided.
- Gateway Women Shooters: A program exclusively for women, led by certified women instructors, offering training in firearms use and self-defense, catering to all skill levels.
