- Pistol Ranges: Used for service pistol competitions and general pistol shooting.
- Shotgun Ranges: Dedicated areas for American Skeet and ISSF Trap, as well as general shotgun shoots.
- Southern Highlands Regional Shooting Complex: Another outdoor range used by the club.
- Anzac Rifle Range (Malabar Headland): This historic range also hosts various shooting disciplines, including full bore rifle, military rifle, and pistol ranges.
Services Offered:
Alpine Hunting & Target Shooting Club provides a comprehensive range of services to its members:
- Diverse Shooting Disciplines: The club caters to a wide array of shooting interests, including precision rifle, shotgun (American Skeet, ISSF Trap), and hunting simulations.
- Competitive and Recreational Shooting: Members can participate in regular competitions and casual shooting sessions ("plinking").
- Hunting Focus: The club incorporates positional shooting (standing, kneeling, sitting, prone without rest, and prone with rest) to simulate hunting conditions. They also offer competitive long-range rifle target shooting relevant to hunting. Members who achieve an "Alpine hunt qualification" (a minimum score in a club competition) can attend selected premium club hunts.
- Instruction and Coaching: Experienced shooters provide personal guidance and safety instruction, particularly for those new to the sport. "Try Shooting" sessions are available for individuals interested in experiencing rifle and pistol shooting under supervision, which typically include range fees, firearm hire, ammunition, and guidance.
- Firearm Storage and Transport: For a monthly fee, members can securely store their firearms at the club's offsite facility, with transportation to and from the range included.
- Clubhouse and Amenities: The club often has access to facilities like a clubhouse, which may include areas for meals and social gatherings after shooting sessions.
- "Alpine Armoury" (Club Store): Members have access to a club store that offers competitive prices on firearms, optics, ammunition, reloading supplies, gun safes, and other shooting and hunting equipment. Note that the purchase of firearms and ammunition is restricted to licensed shooters with appropriate permits.
- Online Booking System: The club utilizes an online system for booking range attendance and other services.
Membership Information:
Membership with Alpine Hunting & Target Shooting Club offers various benefits and options:
- Full Membership: This is the primary membership type, providing access to all club activities, insurance coverage while shooting with Alpine, and the ability to purchase products from the Alpine Armoury at competitive prices. It typically costs a yearly fee.
- Discount Membership: Offered to junior shooters, full-time students, family members of Full Members, and approved members of other shooting clubs. 1 This membership allows participation in shotgun shoots at SISC and discounted access to SISC rimfire rifle and pistol ranges.
