All about Alliance Rifle Club
Facilities and Ranges:
- Primary Focus: The club is structured to support NRA Highpower Rifle Competition, indicating a serious focus on competitive marksmanship rather than casual public shooting.
- Ranges: It features two primary, multi-use outdoor ranges:
- A 1,000-yard long-range course with below-grade pits and target hoist systems.
- A 600-yard mid-range course with firing points available at 200, 300, 500, and 600 yards.
- The ranges are optimized for position shooting (prone, kneeling, offhand) on tree-lined terrain, often compared to the professional match infrastructure of premier facilities like Camp Perry.
Disciplines and Events:
- Competitive Disciplines: The club hosts matches in various precision rifle disciplines, including XTC (Across the Course), Palma, Mid-Range, Long Range, and F-Class courses of fire.
- Competitions: ARC is a home range for the Ohio-Penn Rifle League and holds numerous league matches from mid-March to mid-November. The club has a history of producing high-level shooters, including past members of the Palma Team USA.
Services:
- Membership: ARC operates as a membership club, with both individual and family plans available.
- Instruction: The club is primarily designed for experienced competition-level shooters and does not widely advertise public training or civilian-focused instruction.
- Affiliations: The ARC has been affiliated with the NRA since 1922 and is recognized by the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP), reflecting its deep roots in formal competitive shooting.
