I went to the Laurel Gun Show this past weekend. I guess I was under a false assumption that gun show prices were supposed to be better than GUN SHOP prices……. WRONG! Everything I saw was in the neighborhood of $75 to $100 more expensive than I see at the local gun shops. AND… ammo was OUTRAGEOUS! I saw a bulk box of Federal 22 LR with a price of $100 on it. Federal is the worst of the worst! ALSO… do you remember the little boxes of 50 – 22 LR you used could buy for about 50 cents? WELL…. how about $10 a box for 50! SAD…. just plain SAD.
With the prices the dealers were asking they should have included a free jar of Vasolene so when they were finished it wouldn't hurt so much. My advice….. STAY AWAY FROM GUN SHOWS…. unless you are desperate!
Just one more comment…. I guess most people there were a lot smarter than I gave them credit for. I did see ANYONE leaving with much more than a tee shirt or a metal ammo can.
This is nothing more than price gouging.
Do your homework before you buy a gun or ammo!

Well I would like to add something. Gun shows aren`t there to lose money,…let`s be real. Of course they must do business of some kind or they would have to find a new occupation so you will find that when a person approaches one of the dealers with seriousness and money in hand that the prices are easily negotiated. They sell guns for a living, for the most part, so they can sense if someone is just wanting to hold a gun or if that person is there to do business. I agree the marked prices were high at the last few I attended but I also know that I traded a Ruger .P94 , 40 S&W pistol for a Remington Model 700, .300 Magnum with sling brand new out of the box. So basically I am stating the fact that deals are made at gun shows that couldn`t be made at most other places.
